Music of Remembrance

Eternal.

This is played once a year on Remembrance Day in honour of our war dead, from the millions who died in World Wars I and II in defence of Europe against the biggest atrocities known to man, to the armed forces who put their lives at risk everyday for their country.

We shall fight them on the beaches, we shall fight them on the shores, never in the history of human conflict, has so much been owed, by so many, to so few.

Daniel Barenboim with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, opening the 1997 season at Carnegie Hall in this gorgeously performed dedication to the recently deceased Sir Georg Solti.
